Where do you get a talisman and how do you upgrade it?
The item is called Talisman of Courage in game. You buy the +1 from Kaira in Moradon and do every upgrade after that at the Upgrade Anvil with a Talisman Upgrade Scroll. Here is the part anyone burned by upgrade rates will like: every talisman upgrade has a 100% success rate. As long as you have the NP and KC, nothing breaks.
The talisman has 4 tiers: Tier 1 covers +1 to +16, Tier 2 +17 to +21, Tier 3 +22 to +26 and Tier 4 +27 to +30. Only the item name changes between tiers; the bonuses keep climbing with every upgrade.
On ArdreamWorld you buy the +1 talisman from Kaira for 100M NP and upgrade it to +30, and no upgrade ever fails. Each step to +29 costs 100M NP + 50.000 KC; the last one costs 500M NP + 100.000 KC + 20 GB. A +30 talisman gives 350 HP, 150 DEF, +4 damage and +35 NP.

Three breakpoints stand out. Damage goes up at +10, +20 and +30, and the NP bonus only switches on at +20. Below +20 the talisman does nothing for your NP gain, so if NP is the goal, +20 is the first target.

From scratch to +30 the bill is 3.4 billion NP, 1.500.000 KC and 20 GB, and most of that NP goes into the 28 middle upgrades. NP Level draws from the same NP pool, so if you push both, getting the talisman to +20 first speeds up every NP you earn afterwards.
The 20 GB on the last step equals 2.000.000.000 coins in game. Coins drop from the Cardinal and Stone Golem slots in Ardream.
